Barbie Movie Review by Marlon McClauskey

🏖 A REVIEW OF BARBIE

Synopsis: Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.

My thoughts: this film wasn't what I thought it would be. My wife went and saw it last weekend and she said I would like. So like any good husband would do, I believed my wife. Barbie was clever, funny, and poignant, Barbie is an entertaining movie.

Director Greta Gerwig made Barbie a lot more deeper Introspective than I thought. Producer and star of the film Margot Robbie was perfect in this role. She's a real life Barbie and she brought depth and pathos to the character.

Ryan Gosling as Ken was an scene stealer. The cast was great, Simu Liu as Ken, Issa Rae as President Barbie, Kate McKinnon as Weird Barbie, Emma Mackey as Physicist Barbie, America Ferrera as Gloria, Michael Cera as Allan, and Will Ferrell as Mattle CEO.

This film embraces the silliness of the Barbie world and provides a lot of Easter Eggs and referrances for those that grew up playing with Barbie over the decades. This film will speak to women in a way that's very true without bashing men. This is worth checking out even if you're not a fan of Barbie. This was just a excellent made film.
