One thing I learned as an author is that everyone isn't going to enjoy your books. Some will and some will not but don't let that discourage you as a writer. Don't let negative book reviews get the best of you either. The crabs in a barrel mentality is very present within the literary industry and if you are not equipped with thick skin you will find yourself second guessing your choice to become a published author in the first place. Also please keep in mind when it comes to promoting your book it is YOUR responsibility as an author to know your target audience and market your book to those readers, ESPECIALLY on social networks. Instead of sending friend requests to other authors, let me suggest to you finding readers. Authors are trying to sell books just like you and aren't always interested in purchasing your titles but readers on the other hand want to read and buy books.-Kisha Green #BeEncouraged
